Thoughts early in the morning…

I’m sure some of you saw the conversation on my last post. I’m sorry y’all had to see that. But I don’t put up with disrespect from anyone. Especially when it comes to my faith.
I guess the old saying is true about living life for God.
When faithless people start coming against you, you know your doing something right!

But anyway. My verse for today is one that really touches my heart.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. (Psalm 105:4 NIV)

It’s such a great reminder that when we are weak, all we have to do is look to God and find strength. As i walk through my every day life, the thing that’s really been on my heart is to seek His Face. Because when you are gazing on the beauty and pleasure of God, nothing can knock you off course!
Ever heard the saying you are what you eat? Well that’s true to an extent. But what I think (purely my opinion) is you are what you look at. Paul, I believe, said ‘whatsoever is good and pure etc look on these things.’ (Paraphrased).
This is because if you are looking on things above (Gods face, the bible, etc) you will be brought to that plane of morality and connection with God. But if you are looking and things beneath like porn, lusting after people, or just overly taken with material possessions, you will be pulled down.

It’s all up to you! Whether you choose to abide in Gods love, or to go it alone, like a blind man with a map.

God is a Warrior God!

In the American church we tend to act like “Jesus loves me this is know” is the extent of who god is. When this is so not true. One of the many facets of gods personality is a Warrior! It’s seen all through the bible as God fights for his people, His beloved.
He fights for you and I even today!
Love this verse 🙂 god is a passionate lover and a fierce warrior!

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NIV)

Jeremiah 2:4

“What did your ancestors find fault with in me that they drifted so far from me…” (Jeremiah 2:4 MSG)

This verse breaks my heart in more than one ways. God is like a husband that has been cheated on… Multiple times. And he is so broken.. Asking “was I not good enough for you? What did I do wrong?”
Gods love his people (and the church) is so deep that he is broken hearted when he sees his people so lost. This really reveals to me a greater understanding of this…

But what makes me shiver is the thought that every word about the people of Israel, sounds exactly like the US today. My heart is broken for america. We’ve fallen so far. And God is so close to coming.

God break in to America! Overtake the leadership with your love, from the biggest CEO to the smallest cabinet member. Yours be the glory!

Late Night Thoughts

So a few months ago I went through a time where I would be in church and found I just couldn’t fake it anymore. We all have those times where we just don’t feel like we deserve gods love. But this was different. I found I couldn’t worship without the feeling of something was horribly wrong.
I heard something today that describes this perfectly.
“God is shattering the Sunday morning Christian masks. And raising up priests.”
This is truly what has happened in my life lately. He took me from being a knowledgable, but shallow Christian. To a priest. Someone who longs to sit as his feet. A throne room minded person. As I like to put it. That’s my one desire as David put it in psalm 27.
To dwell in the house of The Lord all my days. ❤

I pray this for all of you! Blessing and fire released in your life to the extent that god traps you in his passionate, jealous love!!!

JFK and 2nd Chronicles

So often we seek God for what He can do for us.

JFK said ‘ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country’

And I really think this is true as well for our walks with God.
This verse is well known but sometimes not comprehended.

2 Chronicles 7:14
” my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”

We tend to seek his HANDS and not His FACE! This is a big problem for many people in the church. Old and young.

It’s something gods really been wrestling with me about. That if I gaze on His face and just trust Him, he’ll take care of me!

Just food for thought…

Re: The Language We Have For God

So yesterday I came up with the idea of listing all of the things God is to me. And this is the (most definitely not comprehensive) list I have so far. The first three are the ones that are speaking to me most lately.

I really love the idea of God being the Breaker of Chains! This is why David was called a man after gods own heart. He was a lover… And a fighter! A warrior! God is the same way. He sets the captives free and breaks the bondage of the slave. But that’s for another time.

1 John 2:1-2

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (I John 2:1, 2 NKJV)

I have heard this verse over an over in church but never really understood the bolded word. So I’m going to google definitions! (Haha)

So propitiation means an atoning sacrifice . This idea blows me away even now. So humble.. Yet the king of KINGS! true beauty= God! ❤

The language we have for God..

I find even in my own life that I run out of words far too quickly of words to describe the One I love. God!
When you describe a loved one, a spouse, a sibling or a parent… You can go on for a long time going down the list of different facets of their personalities and physical attributes. But when asked to describe God we run out so quickly.

So I’ve started doing this with my iPod touch (you can also use a regular notebook or smart phone) I make a note in my iPod and I am filling it with different words that God is.

I have a couple different notes for personal notes. But this is the basic idea. Just a running list of facets of Gods heart and who He is as he reveals them to me. That’s the key. seeking Him and his heart!

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

I have absolutely fallen in love with this verse.
“To this end also we pray for you always, that our god will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our lord Jesus will be glorified in you and you in Him, according to the grace of our god and The Lord Jesus Christ”

I pray this over each of us. Such powerful truth.
